वासिङ्टन, ३ फागुन । अमेरिकाको फ्लोरिडामा अवस्थित एक विद्यालयमा बुधबार बन्दुकधारीले गोली चलाउँदा कम्तीमा १७ जना विद्यार्थीको ज्यान गएको दुःखद समाचार छ । स्थानीय प्रहरीले सो विद्यालयमा बुधबार भएको बन्दुक हमलामा परी १७ जनाको ज्यान गएको पुष्टी गरेको छ । प्रहरीकाअनुसार फ्लोरिडा राज्यको पार्कल्याण्डमा रहेको मर्जोरी स्टोनम्यान स्कुलमा सो गोलीकाण्ड भएको हो । सोही विद्यालयका एकजना १९ वर्षीय पूर्व विद्यार्थीले सो आक्रमण गरेको प्रहरीले पत्ता लगाएको छ । सो गोलीकाण्डमा परी अरु १४ जना विद्यार्थी घाइते भएका अमेरिकी अधिकारीहरुले बताएका छन् । गोली हन्ने निकोलस क्रुज नाम गरेका ती विद्यार्थीलाई गिरफ्तार गरिएको छ । उनीमाथि थप अनुसन्धान भइरहेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ ।
A disgruntled former student killed 17 people when he opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on Wednesday, authorities say.
It is the deadliest school shooting since the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, which claimed the lives of 20 children and six adults.
It also marked the 18th school shooting of 2018 for the United States.
The suspected gunman — identified by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office as 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz — was arrested after fleeing campus.
“This is a terrible day for Parkland, Broward County, the state of Florida and the United States,” Broward Sheriff Scott Israel said at a press conference Wednesday. “It’s just catastrophic. There really are no words.”
“This is just pure evil,” Florida Governor Rick Scott told reporters at a press conference Wednesday evening, where he also pledged “whatever state resources are necessary” to law enforcement or “to help any family member who’s impacted.”
“How could this ever happen in this country? How could this happen in this state?” Scott said, adding that his “prayers are with everybody impacted.”
