THE dangerously in-form Dragons take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium in Sydney’s west in today’s first clash of NRL Sunday. St George are chasing their ninth win after a trailblazing start to the 2018 season saw them rocket ahead of the competition to sit comfortable at the top of the ladder going into the middle weeks of the year.
Later on in the afternoon will see Canberra host the Cronulla Sharks, who are sitting on a knife’s edge with their spot in the top eight hanging in the balance.
Monumental mistake costs Sharks
The Canberra Raiders marched down the field and after a sneaky kick into the try zone, couldn’t quite believe their luck.
Sharks fullback Valentine Holmes watched the dribble kick head towards the out of bounds line and then was left in despair as Raiders player Nick Cotric snuck past him to score the games opening try.
The monumental mistake cost the Sharks dearly, but Holmes quickly made up for the blunder.
Taking advantage of a small crack in the Raiders’ defensive line, Holmes streaked the length of the field to level the game back up at 6-6.
