With the Maha Shivaratri festival less than a week away, preparations are in full swing for one of the biggest Hindu festivals dedicated to the Lord Shiva.
Pilgrims and Sadhus from various parts of Nepal and India have started thronging the Pashupatinath Temple to observe the festival.
The festival falls on Friday this year. Around five thousand Sadhus from Nepal and India are expected to show up at Pashupat area in Kathmamdu this week to take part in the festivities of Maha Shivaratri.
With the Maha Shivaratri festival less than a day away, preparations are in full swing for one of the biggest Hindu festivals dedicated to the Lord Shiva.

Pilgrims and Sadhus from various parts of Nepal and India have started thronging the Pashupatinath Temple to observe the festival.

The festival falls on Tuesday this year. 
At a press conference organized here on Wednesday, the PADT said that arrangement has been made to reach the temple through the Southern Gate via Battisputali-Gaushala-Pingalasthan.



Likewise, visitors are allowed to enter through Airport-Tilganga-Rammandir section from the eastern gate and the route through Mitrapark-Gaurighat-Umakunda-Dakchinmurti-Rudragaunswor and Basuki from northern gate, shared PADT.

PADT member-secretary Dr Govinda Tondon shared that arrangement has made in a way that the revellers can return from the way through which s/he entered the Pashupatinath Temple.
