Obviously, fans and friends of the actor were shocked on seeing the message and some even went on to post condolence messages to the star that is actually hale and healthy.
The strange whtas app message goes like this: “At about 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday (February 23, 2016), our beloved actor Amitabh Bachchan passed away. Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942 in Allahabad. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”
Bollywood is not new to seeing death hoaxes, though. Even last year there were fake stories on the demise of Yo Yo Honey Singh and Lata Mangeshkar.
Amitabh Bachchan himself has faced a number of such ‘false’ death stories.
We only hope that people become a little more responsible when they post messages on social media.
